Malta has one of the finest selection of Museums you may ever encounter in your travels of the world. From ancient temples dating as far back as 3000BC, 15th century armoury and World War II weapons and memoribilia, Malta has a lot to offer in the arena of history.

The Palace Armoury

The Palace Armoury is located in the Grandmasters Palace in Valletta was in fact Malta's first museum. The collection of armoury hosted here is probably one of the best in europe. The full suits of armour on display here are particularly impressive and many of the exhibits found here are of  French, Spanish, Italian, German and even of Turkish origin.
  Maritime Museum

Housed at the former British Naval Bakery at Vittoriosa the Malta Maritime Museum charts Malta's maritime history. The first floor houses a display on the Merchant Navy with a collection of detailed ship replicas and paintings. Photographs, models, weapons and paintings relating to the history of the Royal Navy's British Mediterranean Fleet are also hosted here.
  Palace State Rooms

Home to the House of Representatives and the Office of the President of Malta the palace was once also home to the Grand Masters of the Knights of St. John until 1798. Inside you can see many beautifully decorated state rooms and 18th century Gobelin tapestries. Paintings of the Great Siege and former Grand Masters are also to be found here.
