Healthcare Malta |
|
|
Malta has excellent healthcare in both the public and private hospitals that
operate on the island. Most travellers to Malta do not normally require
immunisation or vaccination certificates to enter Malta. Travellers from europe
should carry their European Health Insurance card and it is also advisable to
have personal medical insurance. Visitors from the United Kingdom and Australia
can avail of free medical care in hospitals in Malta as Malta has a recipricol
health agreement with both these countries.
Pharmacies can also be found throughout Malta and are open during normal
shopping hours and on a roster basis on Sunday's from 09:00 - 12:30. Tap water
in Malta is safe to drink but is not particularly palatable. Bottled water is
available almost anywhere in Malta at a reasonable cost. |
