Diving in Malta and Gozo

With over 80 dive sites throughout Malta and Gozo its relatively easy to see why Malta is one of the most popular diving and snorkelling destinations in the mediterranean. As you can imagine the Maltese islands are rich in various types of marine life. There are many species to be found here and each dive brings a new discovery for the diver. Common species of fish that can be seen here are Grouper, Bream, Barracuda, Sea Urchins and of course Seahorses.
Cuttlefish Some of the best dive sites on the islands can be found on the island of Gozo, Malta's sister island. Ulysses Cave, Coral Cave, the Blue Hole and San Dimitri point are just a few. Some of the colourful marine life you will discover here are Cuttlefish, Gobies, Parrotfish, Damselfish, Fireworms, Cardinal fish and Scorpion fish.
Most dives in Malta can be done from the shore and underwater visibility around the islands is generally very good at up to 20+ metres in most areas. Many certified dive centres can be found throughout Malta and Gozo . For a complete list of certified dive centres please visit the PDSA website. With so many dive sites in Malta its hard to choose, see our dive list below to 'wet' your appetite so to speak. Barracuda
