Diving in Malta and Gozo
With over 80 dive sites throughout Malta and Gozo its relatively easy to see why Malta is one of the most popular diving and snorkelling destinations in the mediterranean. As you can imagine the Maltese islands are rich in various types of marine life. There are many species to be found here and each dive brings a new discovery for the diver. Common species of fish that can be seen here are Grouper, Bream, Barracuda, Sea Urchins and of course Seahorses.

Some of the best dive sites on the islands can be found on the island of Gozo, Malta's sister island. Ulysses Cave, Coral Cave, the Blue Hole and San Dimitri point are just a few. Some of the colourful marine life you will discover here are Cuttlefish, Gobies, Parrotfish, Damselfish, Fireworms, Cardinal fish and Scorpion fish. |

Most dives in Malta can be done from the shore and underwater visibility around the islands is generally very good at up to 20+ metres in most areas. Beaufighter 'N'
The Beaufighter 'N' aircraft was ditched at sea by her crew after it developed engine trouble not long after take-off back in 1943. The dive site is located north-west of St.Julians point. |
MV Xlendi
Located to the south-west of Ghajnsielem on the island of Gozo, the MV Xlendi was a Gozo channel ferry which was retired in 1997 and later sunk as a new dive attraction in 1999.

HMS Maori
The HMS Maori was a tribal class destroyer which was sunk during an aerial attack on the island in 1942. The dive site can be found in St. Elmo's Bay near Valletta. |
Ta Camma
Located at San Dimitri point in Gozo, this consists of a series of caverns etched deep into the headland and is reported to be one of the best dive sites in Gozo. |
